Guest House Access, Facilities & Services

The Queen Victoria Guest House offers 7 guest rooms all fully en-suite and is situated close to Blackpool’s famous Pleasure Beach, the South Pier, Promenade, Sea and Trams.

Entrance Hall Guest House Access:

Car Parking:

Station Road has a virtually flat tarmac surfaced road. The Guest House car park is at the front, and there is a block paved rear car park. We have an enviable 6 space car parking facility for a Guest House in Blackpool.

We can park up to 4 medium/large sized cars on the front car park and two medium/small cars in the rear car park. The parking areas are watched over by infra-red cameras and recording is 24 hours a day.

Main Entrance & Reception:

There are 3 steps up to the front door which are easily accessed. Level access throughout the ground floor. The entrance and all other public areas are well lit and the door and frame are in brilliant white PVC.

Help with luggage is always available from your car to your bedroom. The phone number is displayed on the outside of the property should you require assistance.

Public Areas – General (Internal):

Due to the age, character and layout of the building we are unable to provide lift facilities. There are easy tread, wide and hand railed stairs to all bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd Floors. A flight of 13 steps takes you to the lowest level bedrooms with a range from 17 – 35 stairs to access other 1st & 2nd floor rooms which have varying levels within them.

Dining Room & Bar Lounge:

There is a fairly spacious ground level dining room and a separate bar lounge for residents for relaxing and socialising

All bedrooms are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor with:

  • Tea and coffee making facilities in each bedroom
  • Alarm clock radios and bedside lighting.
  • En-Suite Bathroom featuring shower, WC and wash hand basin, with level entry from bedroom.
  • B: Bathroom 3 has a raised platform with the WC and hand wash basin.
  • Bathrooms 5 and 7 have power assisted showers; room 6 has an electric shower.
  • Remaining rooms showers are fed from the hot water system.
  • Free Wi-fi in all rooms.

Additional Information:

  • Guests are provide with a front door key and room key for 24 hour access.
  • There is an automatic L2 fire alarm system in place.
  • The building is carpeted throughout and operates a strictly non-smoking policy.
  • Windows in the Bedrooms can be opened for fresh air. There is no air conditioning.
  • Bedrooms are centrally heated with thermostatic controls.

Building/Room Maintenance & Future Building Plans:

We have a continual plan of maintenance and this will be on going.

We strive to make all rooms available at busy and peak periods, but during certain off-peak times or in emergencies rooms may not be available

Room Servicing:

All rooms are serviced daily throughout your stay.

Breakfast:

Full English, Continental and Alternative Breakfast options including vegetarian are available. Breakfast is normally served between 8am and 9pm or between 8am and 9.30am.

Special Diets:

We are happy to cater for other dietary requirements other than the vegetarian breakfast options, but please make any requests in advance of your stay.

Children & Families:

Children of 5 years and above are welcome. We have larger family rooms available. NB: Pricing will depend on number of people occupying room. We also have bed bumpers available for our younger guests if needed.

Disabled Access:

Due to the age, character and layout of the building we are unable to provide lift facilities. There are easy tread, wide and hand railed stairs to all bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd Floors. There is a local mobility scooter hire at Bond Street. Please see Guest Information Folder in each room and at reception.

Medical & Dental Services:

Blackpool Royal Infirmary is 10 minutes away for emergency medical treatment at the A Department. There are local Medical & Dental practise in the immediate area and are listed in Guest Information folders in each room and at reception.

Pets:

Currently we do not allow any pets at the Guesthouse.

Communications:

There is a free WIFI service available for guests.

Laundry:

There are no laundry facilities on site. A local launderette self -service facility is nearby which also takes in service wash requests and is operational 7 days a week.

Smoking:

The Guesthouse operates a non-smoking policy inside the building.

Leisure & Sport Facilities:

There are local Leisure & Sports facilities available nearby and local charges will apply

Dining & Shopping:

There are a wide variety of restaurants, pubs and bars within a 10 minute walk from the Guesthouse plus 2 convenience stores. Houndshill Shopping Centre is nearby for a variety of local and chain stores. We are happy to provide recommendations during your stay.

Local Tourist Attractions:

The 4 Star Queen Victoria Guest House is close to Blackpool’s famous Pleasure Beach, the South Pier, Promenade, Sea and Trams. Please ask about discount tickets and tour arrangements.

We stock a variety of Tourist Information leaflets and brochure at the reception area and a small library of Guide books for information. On arrival we will provide you with a small map of the city and local bus numbers and times

Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting, Clubs, Entertainment

For Business and Commercial stays there are a variety of facilities and services available. Please check the Guest Information Folder in each room or at reception for details. We are happy to recommend and book facilities for you in advance of your stay.

Payment:

The Queen Victoria Guesthouse accepts cash and all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Maestro, Solo and Electron. Sorry but we no longer accept personal cheques for payment. A service charge for overseas credit/debit cards of 2% may be added to the bill. There is no charge made for UK debit card payments or cash.

No other service charges are added to the bill. All gratuities are at the customer’s discretion.

Special Celebrations/Occasions:

To make your stay extra special, whatever the occasion, we are only too pleased to be able to offer a ‘Gift Service’ for all our customers and to arrange the purchase of Flowers, Chocolates, Champagne and other Gifts. Please refer to our information in the Guest Information folder located in each room or at reception.

Guests can either, walk, take their cars or take the great value trams and buses which run frequently throughout the year from South Shore into the nearby centre and attractions. Please once again refer to the Guest Information Folder in each room or at reception.
